~norvalid is honored to have been invited by UNESCO-ICHEI to present at the “2024 High-Level Policy Dialogue in Africa” in Dakar, Senegal, 13th of December!

The policy dialogue's theme is "Operationalizing Strategies for Quality Higher Education in the AI Era." It is co-organized by UNESCO, UNESCO-ICHEI, and partner higher education institutions Université Gaston Berger, Université Amadou Mahtar MBOW and Université numérique Cheikh Hamidou KANE (UN-CHK).

Our Head of Business Development, Garnet Berry has authored an insightful article for OEB addressing how ~Norvalid validate authentic student work by using linguistic analysis and automated questioning. We are excited to announce that Norvalid is now fully integrated with Moodle, where our authorship authentication check merges into the standard assignment/assessment workflow.

Institutions using Moodle can seamlessly incorporate our solution for verifying original student writing, ensuring the absence of ghostwriting, contract cheating and unethical AI writing. Our integration is based on LTI 1.3.

We are excited to announce our new name ~Norvalid, which reflects the core values of education: validity, authenticity and honesty (not detection and cheating).

~Norvalid embeds our mission of validating student work, enabling universities to prevent contract cheating and ensure ethical use of AI.

We kept NOR, which has multiple meanings:
We originate from Norway, so carrying the country's ISO code in the name is a nice tribute. Some will also recognize nor as a logical operator and the “tilde” as a mathematical way of expressing negation. “Negate nor, and you end up with VALID. This alludes to the scientific depth of our solution.

Norvalid is honored to be holding workshops at the SAPHE (South African Private Higher Education) Conference at IMM Graduate School in Johannesburg, South Africa, November 5th and 6th!

The SAPHE 2nd Annual Conference aims to promote the discovery and creation of knowledge by the higher education sector that addresses current and emerging societal challenges and priorities.
